I don't think there's any excuse to cut out Bill T. Jones and acknowledgement or coverage of his integral and Tony winning contribution ... i mean choreography in any musical that has it is usually a major selling point, but here we have acclaimed choreo that was a very iconic aspect to the show, done by a giant in the dance world new to broadway, and he won a Tony for it (Lea and Jonathan did not). Beyond that I can't imagine why any documentary, let alone one about art, would want to invite any noticing or accusation of erasure of the very present and relevant black artist.

But beyond taking the time to cover Jones's choreography even a less... I don't think there's any real reason this documentary couldn't have been 5 minutes longer... 10 minutes longer.... 22 minutes longer... 45 minutes longer.

Who the hell do they think is sitting down to watch this particular documentary that would watch an hour and 23 min of it but wouldn't watch 2 hours of it? And it's on HBO so it's not like it's being cut down to fill a 2 hour slot but with 37 minutes of commercials. Or is it? Is it airing elsewhere?

This not even being 90 minutes seems like a pretty stupid and short-sighted choice, related or unrelated to the Bill T. Jones choreo erasure issue.
