BTW, Michael Portantiere and I have been friends for a few years now. I'm pretty sure we got to know each other (basically) through ATC. He's met my partner -- we actually got together for drinks and a late supper maybe 3 years ago or so. My partner is friends with him on Facebook.
Michael and I correspond via private e-mail, text, or phone at least once a week and have been doing so for years. We have major disagreements all the time, about everything -- don't get me started on Auntie Mame/Mame.
For example, this season I'm a big fan of (especially) Paradise Square and Six. He strongly dislikes both of those shows. Sometimes we get into very intense debates, but they are always civil and respectful. We are always still friends afterward.
I'm aware that Michael has not posted on ATC for (I believe) a few months now. I don't know the reasons why, and I have never asked him about it because (frankly) it's none of my business. I do know that he is a writer, a reviewer, a photographer, and is an incredibly busy guy in many different things all relating to theatre.
There's nothing to be concerned about. I'm certain that he's doing just fine. |
