| Any speculation about this production is the new mine field on boards, but it's perhaps a fair supposition that Streisand wouldn't attend for myriad reasons, including knowledge that the staging and star performance were not well received. But more likely, not to force interviewers to solicit her opinion. If she never sees it, she never has to weigh in. As far as I know, she sidestepped the Midler {Peters, Murphy, Buckley, Carmello} Dolly, though admittedly Brice is a signature role in ways Levi is not.
