| I saw it. It started with her in a sweatsuit, doing the Jane Fonda workout. At the end of the first act, having taken control of her husband's company, she entered in a big flowery dress and picture hat and shouted or sang the line "Don't cry for me Argentina!" The whole thing felt a little desperate. It did have a rare appearance by Hallie Foote in a play not by her father. Interestingly, the play was filmed many years later, starring Catherine Deneuve. The situation is the same, but the treatment is rather different. |
