Yes, if nothing else, seeing the play piqued my interest in Moses and sent me searching for articles and videos of him. Still hoping to eventually get to the Caro biography.
Not that David Hare isn't a brilliant playwright, but I really wish an American playwright, someone perhaps who grew up in the NY area the play covers, would write a better play about Moses with a more personal and insightful point of view. For example, I'd be curious of Tony Kushner, Richard Greenberg, Donald Margulies and/or David Auburn's take on the man. |
