The clip package of the playwrights gave them a little more airtime than they normally get.
One of my favorite lines came from Tracy Letts: ''I hope the audience comes away with the burning desire to stop the rise of fascism in this country.''
I also wish they would bring back scenes from plays, but the Tonycast doesn't trust the audience and expects them to change the channel.
One of my favorite Tony moments is Maggie Smith and Margaret Tyzack, both winners, doing a scene from ''Lettice and Lovage.'' Brilliant! |
