Yes, Taron Egerton did not win an Oscar for ''Rocketman.'' But he also was not nominated (though he won a Golden Globe for Musical/Comedy).
Sissy Spacek, however, won for playing Patsy Cline (''Coal Miner's Daughter'') and Reese Witherspoon for June Carter Cash (''Walk the Line'').
Meantime, Austin Butler, who made his Broadway debut in ''The Iceman Cometh,'' is getting Oscar buzz for Baz Luhrmann's new ''Elvis'' movie.
Back to the Tonys, Levi Kreis won for Jerry Lee Lewis in ''Million Dollar Quartet''; Paul Hipp did not win for ''Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.'' |
