| It seems to me that until a few years ago (or maybe it was 10 years ago, but I mean: historically), In Memoriam segments on the various awards shows used recorded instrumental music. I have never liked the live performer(s) – it's always distracting. The attention should be 100% on the deceased people being honored. And it isn't, even with less showy performers than Billy Porter. The In Memoriam at this year's Oscars was ridiculous how much the singing overpowered the memoriams. |
