| The "reunion" thing was weird. I had completely forgotten both Tony Shalhoub and Danny Burstein were in the Golden Boy revival, for example, which had a respectable run of about 80 performances but I think there are zero people in the world who were thinking, "Boy, I really wish we could have a Golden Boy reunion. And I really hope we have one that doesn't include the lead." More random thoughts: - It was nice that Carole Rothman/Second Stage got tickets for the entire cast of Take Me Out to attend. - What happened to Jesse Williams's jacket? He was wearing one on the red carpet. Did he spill something? -Besides Six's win for Best Score, I don't think they ever mentioned who won the awards from the first hour. Every other time, I think they've shown excerpts from the speeches. - I guess they decided not to have seat fillers because of COVID, but now I understand why they have them. It didn't look great on camera. - I also didn't understand the seating decisions. Usually the front row and the close aisle seats are presenters and nominees, but many of the winners seemed to come from farther back, and I didn't recognize a lot of the people in the closer seats. -Speaking of which, who was the woman in the green dress whom Ariana DeBose was interacting with before she started up with Andrew Garfield? She is the one who said, "audience" into the mic. |
