| Allowing all the investors to march up on stage is the epitome of egos on parade. They don't allow it at the Emmys, Grammys, Golden Globes, etc. So why at the Tonys where we are known for hearing the most genuine, articulate, classy, generous acceptance speeches of any awards show. By far. Speaking of egos on parade - please let Billy Porter and theatre-owner Jordan Roth (look at his bizarre costume last night) attend a Quaker (as in the film "Friendly Persuasion") service or Shaker Church to get rooted again in the song "Tis a Gift to Be Simple." Also, allowing the producers of plays or musicals to be the only speakers instead of the creators (e.g. writers) the people who TRULY are the reason the work had a LIFE at all. Enough. |
