I also didn't ''get'' the reunion of Tony Shalhoub and Danny Burstein for the ''Golden Boy'' revival. Granted, they were both Tony nominees, but ...

I would've paired Shalhoub with Katrina Lenk from ''The Band's Visit,'' for which they BOTH won their Tony Awards.

And I always like the tradition of bringing past last year's winners to present. It gives a sense of history and passing the torch. So I was happy that Aaron Tveit and Adrienne Warren, last year's Best Actor and Actress in a Musical, were presenters. But was that same offer extended to Andrew Burnap and Mary-Louise Parker, last year's Best Actor and Actress in a Play? Or did they turn it down, or was Burnap unavailable?

And Skylar Astin and Marcia Gay Harden were paired, but the Tonys didn't mention they're starring in a new CBS sitcom: ''So Help Me Todd.''
