I don't know quite what to make of your post. What I see is someone who wants everything to sound in their own generation and culture. Yes, actors with 40 years of experience can reflect on what they have learned in a way that a 22 year old cannot (and that we would criticize them for doing if they tried) but your misread of Frost's "humility" is dead wrong. I have no explanation for how you could have missed what he said about his mother and grandmother, but if you need all of this set out more explicitly, watch what he had to say at the after party interview (linked below) and see if you might want to reconsider your judgment.
PS, it is well to remember that in each generation there is a part of older generations who are cranky that culture is not static. Myles Frost is not mid-century modern but he is no more or less entitled than, e.g., Robert Preston was. |
