| Producers who will be required to refund ticket-holders who request them when the star is out are not generally Pollyannas with rose-colored glasses. Actors who are billed above the title with a great role to play tend to like to show up and perform, although there's another much-talked-about instance this season where the bloom may be off the rose about getting through a role 8x a week. But the overwhelming, big majority of actors, while appreciative of an understudy/standby that the show will keep running when they are needed, much prefer to perform themselves and get paid to show up and do so. |
