I agree, but it can't be overstated how much easier I think it is to sell tickets to Mame than to a new musical by writers most people don't know at all, called War Paint, about to make up moguls most people no longer are aware of. And I say that having really enjoyed War Paint and glad I saw it.
I think LuPone and Ebserole in MAME would sell much easier ... but probably would only sell well for 6 months max. |
