I maybe miss-remembering, but there was a bit of a controversy with The Will Rogers Follies because they didn't want to use Black people in the chorus since there was not Black people in the original Ziegfeld Follies. Not sure how it was resolved, but at the end (after opening????) they actually added some Black girls (I am going by the posters of the show, since I didn't see it).
