LuPone also supposedly skipped all the press after winning. Someone said she never came back to sit down after she won. I don't remember if she won before or after Company's win for Best Revival.
Both she and Jackman are old-school and are going to perform on the Tonys no matter how they are feeling.
She, her son, and her husband seemed much more emotional than I remember them being after her Gypsy win. I'm guessing she thinks this is really the end of the line for her, at least as far as Broadway musicals go. |
