| Fun video! Of the musicals she mentions, I only saw Smile (disappointing), and The Moony Shapiro Songbook (horrifying). IMHO of course. I remember seeing I Married An Angel at Encores, and was thrilled to see a show from the thirties that I would have otherwise have never seen. I thought, "NOW I know what I Married And Angel was." But of lot of critics complained that Encores was reviving a mediocre show. The fact is that most neglected musicals are neglected for a reason, but Encores gave people a chance to see old shows that were flawed, but had glimpses of gold. I miss that mission. Dear God I want to see Love Life! |
