According to Mandlebaum, the only good things about Carnival in Flanders were Dolores Gray's performance and the song "Here's That Rainy Day". He says further that the show should have closed on the road. Per Suskin, the critics gave it 4 pans and 3 unfavorable reviews. It ran only 6 perfs and did not receive a cast recording.
Tell your billionaire friend to finance a recording of Love Life instead. Or maybe a cast recording of May Wine, the show that AlanScott has spoken highly of many times. |
