In reference to Charlie Smalls who wrote the music and lyrics for THE WIZ, you should know that all the songs were not written by him Luther Vandross wrote "Everyone Rejoice" one of the songs and gets credit for it. But that is not all, Larry Kerchner wrote some of the songs, two of them the top one "Home" and "Don't Bring Me No Bad News". The story behind that both Charlie and Larry were 19 years old, He needed help and Larry Kerchner sold him those songs and the rights and couple of other as he needed the money so Charlie took the credit. "Home" is done all over the place.
