That the illustrious Marlo*Manners finds my posts reprintable for the record.

And....just WHAT is a "thing" with me? That I dislike some things and like other things?

Hysterical!!!

Yes. You’re on the record as disliking Book of Mormon, Mockingbird and Company, but liking “Diana”.

Hysterical is right.
(And for what it’s worth, I agree with Ms Manners: I don’t believe either that anyone goes back to see the understudies in all these shows they pretty much hated the first time.)

I LOVE going back to shows I don't like to see the understudies. Sometimes it makes all the difference. And sometimes it at least elevates the show to a different, better level.

Not understudies, but the replacement cast of SOMETHING ROTTEN (which I didn't much care for the first time) was excellent and changed my opinion of the show.

Oh yeah....then there was that time that a certain Miss Minnelli stood in for Gwen Verdon and totally changed my mind about the show.

I'd even go back again to see ANOTHER understudy in FUNNY GIRL. It's a classic show and it's fun to see how another take on the lead would affect the overall production. I mean SOMEBODY's gotta be able to save this gobbler!!

Agreed. Enough with the flowery language, succinct similes and overagitated adverbs
