Maureen Arthur RIP
Posted by: mlop 02:40 am EDT 06/21/22

I was saddened just hearing the passing of actress Maureen Arthur at age 88. She played Hedy LaRue the bubble headed secretary in the national company of “How to Suceed In Business and then did it on Broadway. She went on to reprise the role when it was made into a movie along with Robert Morse who just passed away and Rudy Valle and Michele Lee. She also did another Broadway Comedy by Carl Reiner called “Something Different”.

I first met her on a tv Quiz Show when she was a side kick to Jan Murray on Charge Account. She made many tv appearances and was a regular on a summer replacement show called “Holliday Lodge”. She made many movies. It has been ages since we have been in touch. RIP.

Just watched her in HOW TO SUCCEED last week on TCM, and was regretting that I did not see her play Adelaide (opposite Milton Berle!) in Los Angeles way back in the day. Always got a big kick out of her.

Just the mention of Maureen Arthur's name brought a smile on my face. Seeing her on stage or any other venue added a lot to any show she was in.
