Something that might have factored into its not returning is that Laurie Metcalf's sitcom, The Conners, now shoots a full season's worth of episodes.

I know several people who did in fact see it. Their comments were all entirely positive. I remember one friend saying that Everett was not quite as strong as his castmates, but it was so early in the preview period that she expected him to turn that around. She particularly praised Metcalf and Ferran.

Perhaps the play is overdone? That would account for it not having box office power, and in a time when fewer people are attending theatre it might be too much of a risk. I believe the few performances the production gave were well attended, however.

Maybe Mantello and his cast are all too busy?
