| This revival never really found enough of an audience to be successful commercially. The production will undoubtedly lose most (if not all) of its investment. A recording would probably cost between $350K to $500K. It would probably take something like a very generous donor to get this revival recorded. | |

| I understand what you're saying from a financial perspective. But from a creative/artistic perspective, this is the last Broadway production that Sondheim was involved with and it was heavily revised from its previous iteration. Not to mention the five Tony awards. It feels necessary for historical value to preserve that. It would be really sad if this production is lost to time. | |

| There's a London cast recording of the same production which includes Patti's rendition of "Ladies Who Lunch" and features in Rosalie Craig a Bobbi who can better sing the score than Katrina Lenk. I imagine that rather lessens the need and commercial potential for a new recording. | |
