I always wondered why Bishop won too.
I saw the original production as a kid (not with the original cast.)
I remember not wanting Sheila to get hired. (She seemed bitchy to me as a kid.)
Diana was the person I was really rooting for. When he tells her to get back in line it was so sad then of course she gets in and Sheila doesn't.
I've always had this theory (although the books seem to negate it) that the people with the best attitudes get the roles.
For example Diana, Val, Richie all have songs where the overcome stuff. The ones who tell negative stories (all the At the Ballet women) don't get in. |
