I am growing increasingly tired of a seeming majority of major acting awards going to people who play real-life figures. Obviously, many of these performances have been deserving, but, as a trend, it's making me concerned that people confuse "slavish imitation" with actual acting.
I wouldn't be surprised if Frost's win over Jaquel Spivey becomes one of those award debates that goes on for years to come. (Bernadette and Marissa, I'm looking at you.) |
