Is there a lot of live video done by camera operators shadowing actors and projecting their images hither and yon in this production? Or is that in the Oresteia? I'm kind of over that directorial fad after seeing so many of them in recent years . . .

If you're over the live video gimmick...

...then I think you'll find there's too much of it in this production. At least that was my reaction.

Oh, dear -- thanks a lot before I bought a seat. re: live video - I think anything more than a couple of minutes in one scene is too much actually. I kind of reached my limit after the Met's Lucia. I know directors think use of video closeups enhances the acting, but for me it is a distraction that pulls me out of the magical world the actor has created live in front of us and made us believe. It creates a barrier that makes their work seem smaller in scope rather than more fully embracing a room of strangers. It diminishes the art of acting on a live stage. Anyway, I think I've given this fad a fair shot and I just don't want to sit through these things any more. Thanks for your reply!

There's only a little bit, and it's used with purpose
