It was great in London. Any chance it will come back with Jordan?

I have no clue whether it will come back to Broadway, but one observation is that the London production is in a pretty small house vs. Broadway. The other thing that stood out to me is how much of a following the show has built with teenage girls (maybe it was just the night I attended). Maybe that could be recreated in NYC but I'm not sure if would work on Broadway -- might need an off Broadway venue.

I enjoyed the original Broadway production and think highly of Jeremy Jordan, but this London production definitely has some energy and fire that the original was lacking.

That's Jordan Duke Gage as Clyde, but who's filling in for Frances Mayli McCann as Bonnie? ... And who's playing Buck Barrow?

Thanks, Theaterislife. ... First, I need to correct my spelling of the actor playing Clyde in the post above: It's Jordan Luke Gage.

Back to the subs at the West End Live concert: I read that Lauren Jones did this concert with only a few hours' notice. Good for her!

And I found an article about the actor playing Buck. He's Adam Williamson, but his stage name is Charlie McCollough, or McCullagh.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the two different spellings? The article, linked below, includes both.

I enjoyed ''Bonnie & Clyde,'' thanks to Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes, and its wonderful score during its two-month N.Y. run in 2011.

Glad to see Wildhorn's West End debut has garnered mostly praise and audiences, and will wrap up July 10 after a 13-week run at the Arts.

However, I doubt there's a demand to revive this short-lived show so soon, and can't imagine why Jordan would repeat himself on Broadway.

Last January, tho', he led two soldout concerts of ''Bonnie'' at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. And it was filmed for future release.

Saw it at Arts Theatre a few weeks ago and thought it was well done. Liked the Broadway production too but let's face it the show had it's chance and unfortunately there are few second chances at the roulette table. The chips were lost.

I guess people who put money in Wildhorn's shows aren't noted for their sense, but B&C was such a resounding dud on Broadway and lost every bit of its investment, who in their right mind would bring it back?

The great Stephen Sondheim musical Company is closing after only 300 performances so why would anyone throw their money away on a Bonnie and Clyde revival? I saw it on Broadway and I did like it but unless a show nowadays has a big star or a lots of mass appeal it will not succeed on Broadway.

I didn't see Bonnie And Clyde on Broadway, but ironically, I find it to be one of his better scores, by far. (I'm not at all fond of the treacly pop-era ballad side of his writing, but the rock-ier, sexier nature of the B&C score works for me.)

But - do regional theatres even do it? I don't think anyone in the Boston area has even thought about it. Or any of his shows, really.

Bonnie and Clyde started in San Diego, and I reviewed the world premiere production. I’ve linked my review below. As you’ll see, I was very mixed in my opinion and major problems with some of it.

I'm no Wildhorn fan, but I also found the score surprisingly not-bad. I actually still have the OBC in my music library and hear a song now and then when my iTunes decides I should.

The book, however, was atrocious. And even if the show has enjoyed further productions, it didn't find an audience on Broadway. Only the closing week (which was also the week between Christmas and New Year's) came anywhere near covering costs. If people didn't want to see it then, I can't imagine they want to see it now.

Bonnie & Clyde -- Chicago Productions

There have been 2 productions in the Chicago area (that I know of) -- Kokandy did it in 2017 and Madkap staged it in 2019. Both were non-equity, well cast and sung -- I enjoyed them. Very entertaining score, but the book is terribly superficial, especially when you compare it to the '67 film with the screenplay by David Newman and Robert Benton and the underscore by Charles Strouse.

Some years ago it was one of the most-produced musicals in the country. No idea how it's done lately.

To quote a song from ''Bonnie & Clyde,'' ''the world will remember'' this show, and it's been produced around the globe.

Among the countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden ...
