To give her the benefit of the doubt: she was apparently symptomatic with Covid, a respiratory infection after all. I’m no advocate*for her performance or casting but there’s no denying the challenge in returning to this vocally challenging role on the cusp of a debilitating disease. Calling out the second show of a Saturday sounds like acceptance of an inability to deliver tonight.
