The 13 minutes Feldstein sit down with Meyers offers an enjoyable window into how this young star is handling this experience. We've heard much speculative projection, that she's crushed by the bad reception, that it's hard to perform with so much negativity, etc. This interview disproves just about everything. She had Covid, it was tough, she's a true believer in the Broadway protocols (I'll personally salute her), she loves doing the show, adores the company, she got engaged. This is a happy, confident adult who's clearly processed this moment in her life and career, the good, the bad. Maybe -- though I doubt it -- it will put to rest some of the concern that she can hardly make it to the August Wilson because she's so upset with her reception in the press and on these boards. She's cheered (yes, I can attest; she was when I saw the show), people wait for her outside, she's just fine. |
