“ I wonder if (a) LCT will book something else for the Beaumont for the fall.”
People on the other board are already talking about what a weak year it’s been for LCT (which, aside from Flying Over Sunset, I disagree with). But since nothing else has been announced for next season, and since they recently opened up membership for the first time in years, it’s clear they need to present some offerings to their subscribers between now and next April.
Regardless of whether another short-term show goes into the Beaumont this fall or not, I’ll be stunned if they don’t do a deal to offer tickets to subscribers for one of the shows coming to Broadway this fall, as they’ve done for things like “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Falsettos” and “Clybourne Park”. (My guess would be Death of a Salesman, Topdog/Underdog, or perhaps most likely given their ongoing commitment to Stoppard, Leopoldstadt; something that might not have a huge advance sale and where early word of mouth from dedicated theatergoers can benefit the commercial producers of the show in the same way that LCT benefits from filling a slot for subscribers.) |
