Ok, ignore the word rules, change it to precedent. Undoubtedly shows can choose if, and how to, allocate discounted tickets. And the hotter tickets can set more exlcusionary precedents. And also the hotter tickets in more public areas can get pressure from the city to reduce crowding.
Given Into the Woods is currently on TKTS it's possible this higher pricing will be a flop and either this show will drop the pricing or no other show will follow their leads. It's not the first time that an Encores hit has gone to Broadway and not maintained the hype.
