Goodson-Todman’s production staff went to all the Broadway shows, and it really helped them keep up on new talent – that’s how people like Bert Convy and Anita Gillette became game show regulars.

When Penny Fuller did a week on Password in 1965, she was introduced as “the star of Broadway’s Barefoot in the Park” and all her small talk with Allen Ludden was about that show. But while she appeared for a week on that CBS game show, there was no mention of the fact that at the same time she was also a regular on a CBS soap opera, The Edge of Night. They could have done some cross-promotion for the network, but the Goodson-Todman staff probably had no idea – they only knew her as a Broadway performer.
