| To my mind, a Lifetime Achievement Tony for Julie Andrews would celebrate her longevity and legacy of representing Broadway. Besides the 4 shows she actually did on the Great White Way, she is known worldwide for playing Maria von Trapp in the classic movie of ''The Sound of Music.'' Is there anyone who doesn't associate Andrews' name with Broadway musicals? She's also one of the last leading ladies from that golden era of musical theater. Andrews began her career on the stage, and it's kinda ironic that the one major award she needs to complete her EGOT is the Tony. |
