It is odd that the only Best Score Tony that Lerner and Loewe won was for ''Gigi,'' and that was for basically writing a few new songs.

Alas, there was no Tony category for Best Score in the seasons which ''My Fair Lady,'' ''Paint Your Wagon'' and ''Camelot'' opened.

The bulk of ''Gigi's'' score came from the 1958 MGM movie, like ''Gigi,'' ''I Remember It Well,'' ''Thank Heaven for Little Girls,'' etc.

The additional tunes didn't account for 50% of the score, so under today's rules, Lerner and Loewe wouldn't have been Tony-eligible.

(Of the new songs, I LOVE ''The Contract.'' What a witty, 8-minute musical scene. I hated how it was ''contracted'' in the 2015 revival.)
