Richard Iii Is a bery challenging plot. Although the style of the villain’s star turn helps a lot, the ins and outs of who is Clarence and who is G and who is that woman (oh, right, his mother, who comes out of nowhere) and how does Margaret connect, and who is Lady Ann mourning and how is that connected to Richard, and on and on. And what drives Buckingham and all that plot?
So if you cast it as a female (or a seeming female) with no physical hunchback….well, you’re defying the storytelling’s needs right off the bat. |
