I remember hearing at the time that that production of PUTTING IT TOGETHER didn't transfer to Broadway because someone (Andrews? Edwards?) didn't want to steal the thunder of Andrews' return to Broadway from VICTOR/VICTORIA.
Luckily, we later got a new, albeit reconceived, production of PIT on Broadway. And I'm so glad that the off-Broadway production was recorded.
