| You’re right about the Mendez/Spacey production. I saw it from the upper balcony at the Harvey Theater, and while I was initially concerned about the distance from the stage, that concern disappeared once the play started and Spacey drew me in so completely. The best production of Richard for me, though, was the Richard Eyre//Ian McKellan Nazi-flavored production also at BAM. I can still remember goosebumps at the end of the first act as Richard ascends to power… and that was a long time ago. |
