Where to begin re how sad this is...& how very good it is that Mr. Durang has so much support, love, & joy/will to keep thriving. For decades, working on his material has brought me so inspiration & feeling of affinity, & it breaks my heart how he may not be helping to oversee any more productions of new work....all prayers for improved medical care for this disorder. One of my riches acting experiences was playing Prudence in an off-off Broadway BEYOND THERAPY. One of my acting teachers in the late 80s/early 90s, the magnificent E. Katherine Kerr, played opposite Mr. Durang in the original production of LAUGHING WILD (wish I had worn a diaper while laughing so hard at the performance I viewed via Theatre on Film & Tape), & one day Mr. Durang covered for her as a teacher for one class!!!! He spoke so movingly at her memorial service, & am glad I had the chance to tell him how much I had enjoyed that day in class. Again, every prayer toward his ability to thrive for many more years...what a kind genius.
