Theater in August New York, New York July 20, 2022— New Ambassadors Theatre Company is thrilled to return to live programming with their third annual short play festival BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022. BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022 begins on Wednesday, August 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 21. BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022 features two programs performed in rotating rep, with a regular schedule of Wednesday – Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 4 pm & 8 pm; Sunday at 4 pm & 8 pm. BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022 features the best in new, original, and unconventionally-themed short plays and celebrates characters who think, dwell, identify, evolve, are born, love, or live outside the box. Split into two programs, A and B, the festival features 14 new short plays that amplify marginalized voices and reflect a true representation of our community. With a myriad of themes, from the hilarious (the pros and cons of cinnamon lube, how Shakespeare cross-dressing is kind of hot) to the urgent (fitting "in" to coming "out," democracy hanging in the balance), BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022 delves into the idiosyncrasies that make up our multifaceted community. BLURRING BOUNDARIES 2022 continues New Ambassadors Theatre Company’s seminal mission: To facilitate a radically inclusive, intersectional, and safe environment in which both the inexperienced writer and seasoned playwright find encouragement, constructive criticism, and camaraderie throughout the development process (from conception to production) of an original work. The 2022 BLURRING BOUNDARIES lineup is: Program A Week 1: Wed & Fri at 8 pm; Sat & Sun at 4 pm Week 2: Thur, Sat & Sun at 8 pm THE ENTERTAINER by John Peña Griswold, directed by Jennifer Downes With David Adam Gill and tba An entertainer arrives at a child's birthday party to entertain.
