I understand your point 100% especially when a star-studded or much celebrated cast is one of the major selling points. I will say, however, that I saw this production of Into the Woods recently with a few understudies. I was a bit disappointed at first but then the show started and the understudies were simply wonderful.
There has always been the risk that stars will be out of shows, it's just more frequent now with COVID. This is the risk you take with live theater.
I believe if one of the stars you really want to see is out you could go to the box office for a refund or date exchange, but in this case, for me, the show was worth every dollar I paid. |
