Not being a fan, either of Diamond, or of the glut of bio-jukebox musicals, it's been very hard to drag myself to the Colonial. So I can't offer any opinions. I will say I'm pleasantly surprised by the Boston critics' assessments (I have no schadenfreude here even if I have no affinity for the material). But I also wouldn't be surprised if your predictions about NYC are right.
I'm sure that Will Swenson and Mark Jacoby are great. I can also vouch for the talents of one of the ensemble men who was a former student of mine. I do wish the show well. I'd just rather see all this talent in a different property. :-) |
