The key difference here might be that in "Tootsie" and "Mrs. Doubtfire", we had men-in-dresses who were doing something arguably nefarious: taking a role that could have gone to a female actor or scamming their way around a custody settlement by lying to their loved ones. If they follow the film, then in this one our two heroes are dressing as women in order not to be killed by the mafia and wind up being folded into an all-female musical act. With Amber Ruffin on board, I have high hopes that they'll manage to pull this one off.
