| Grimes choreographed a terrific production of Jelly's Last Jam in 2016 in Arlington's Signature Theatre. Jelly was played by jazz pianist Mark Meadows, so the piano playing was real. The production was still very tap heavy, and Grimes' work was outstanding. He did not appear in the production, which was directed by Matthew Gardiner. Perhaps that version, with Grimes choreographing and dancing, could be a good basis for a revival. |
