| That show was delightful--it did not catch on, and as i recall, there were stories of incompetent producing. The music was done justice by a wonderful cast, the adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night was well done. It was sort of a precursor to the jukebox musical style of fitting an existing musical catalog to a story, rather than making an artist's bio. Not my favorite genre, but as I say, beautifully executed. Definitely it deserved a longer run in NY. PBS broadcast a regional production of it that wasn't quite at the level of the Broadway one, but still a lot of fun. |
