| I think the majority of the people doing the screaming and yelling are young theatergoers fairly new to Broadway attendance. I am grateful they have appreciated the experience of "Into the Woods" so much and hope this will translate into attending more shows. I don't mind enthsiastic applause and even "whooping" at the end of numbers since it demonstates an audience engaged with the show. There are no real idols here where the whooping and other responses show an engagement with something other than the material being presented onstage. |
