| Part of my joy at watching Broadway become welcoming to enthusiasm is that it slowly topples the stranglehold of the odious elitism on display here. Your only reference for “mass culture” is truck rallies (which actually can be a lot of fun… they’re basically Drag pageants for automobiles), heavy metal concerts, and Trump rallies?! Bring on the folks who offer a spirited “yes ma’am” and some hoops and hollers. |
