This hits the nail on the head. These kinds of reactions don't feel authentic, they feel contrived to draw attention to oneself. To be included in the action. I feel social media has accelerated that behavior. I notice it with my younger friends (I am in my lats 50s), almost every facet of their lives is somehow pitched at an audience beyond themselves. I wish I could articulate that thought better than I have, but perhaps someone else can. |
