There’s no chaos about naming or renaming theaters. Beyond this board and other Broadway message boards, I think most patrons don’t know, don’t care and don’t remember what show they saw in what theater.
Having said that, there is nonetheless value and merit in honoring notables when the opportunity arises. But a wholesale renaming of most Broadway houses is unnecessary.
How do YOU pronounce “Lyceum”? 🤔
It troubles me more that so many people misspell “Shubert”. 😉 |
