| Just bumping this mention up from the sub-thread below. I’ve never seen him live—and didn’t realize he made his Broadway debut in Bajour—but I’ll always be grateful his glorious vocals were preserved on the studio recordings of The Baker’s Wife and Carmelina. When I heard the sad news, my immediate reaction was to play “It’s Time for a Love Song” from the latter. Then “Merci, Madame,” from the former. Rest in peace. |
