Who will play three such iconic figures? Wondering whether Ralph Fiennes might be Gielgud? Or Alex Jennings?

Matthew Rhys as Burton?

Jennings would be perfect. Thorne is using Sterne’s book (the one with the transcribed scenes he secretly recorded) and Redfield’s LETTERS FROM AN ACTOR, describing the rehearsals.

But those three aren’t the only big names that need casting here. Hume Croyn, Alfred Drake, Eileen Herlie, John Cullum, and George Rose as the Gravedigger. Wow.
